Spiritual Horticulture

Hello Lovely Ladies,

I have decided to blog my first God revelation for today. This morning I was talking to my sister in Nigeria and she asked me if I was happy. My response was that I was better than I had been but still I was feeling unhappy and unsettled about some things. As we continued talking we boiled down my issues not to the problems I felt I was faced. We are continuously faced with challenges, problems and struggles in life. My issue seemed to be the lacking manifestation of the fruits of the spirit during this season of my life.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Now here comes the revelation; she reminded me that fruit is determined by the seed you plant. For physical fruit, I plant a physical seed but for spiritual fruit a spiritual seed is necessary. If I am not happy, doing things to make myself feel better or act better during the storm does not ensure a harvest of joy, peace, etc. Only the seed of the Word can do that. Therefore, my next course of action should be to actively plant the word of God regarding these areas that I am lacking and let it grow.

I am sure you ladies know and have heard this before as this message of sowing and reaping is echoed all throughout the word of God. I know I have heard it and talked about it in other contexts before. But, it just took me till this morning to receive an intimate and personal revelation about planting seed for the fruit spirit.

Consequently, my action plan for spiritual horticulture is to memorize Galatians 5:16-26 and do word studies in Crosswalk.com and Biblegateway on the fruits of the Spirit for the rest of this month. Please ask me how I am doing with that.

Much love,
Tinuke
