Be a Life-long Learner

2 Tim 2:15 "Do your best to present yourself to God as a tried and true worker who isn't ashamed to teach the Word of Truth correctly."
Have you ever noticed that there are people and entire churches who are literally at the same place today as they were years ago? They say they still have the same vision, the same problems, the same opportunities, the same way of doing things, even still the same way of thinking. They seem to be standing still in life. It is like time has stopped, and so did they. You know what the definition of insanity is? "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" If God wasn't a God of Grace then we all would be in a hep of trouble. But God's will for us is to grow, to continue to learn and improve and yes, to even make mistakes. The biggest room in our house should be the room for improvement. I try to learn from others. Sometimes I learn what to do, sometimes, I learn what not to do. I learn from the mistakes of others, and mostly from the mistakes I make myself. We don't live long enough to make all the mistakes ourselves, therefore, it is a good thing to learn also, from the mistakes of others. "You can learn more from a wise man when he is wrong, than a fool who thinks he is right"
I had the opportunity to hear an awesome message this week. Why was it awesome? Because it called me to action. It caused me to pray, it caused me to ponder, it caused me to consult others, it called me to action!! Growing means to never stop asking questions. "The only stupid question, is the one not asked." I knew a person once who was asked to sit in on some board meetings. He never had any questions, he never had any comments, he never had any input what-so-ever. In fact this is a person that most people love to have on their boards. When we elect someone to represent us on a board we hope that they will ask the hard questions, we hope they would not be afraid to lead and to serve, and yes sometimes even ruffle a few feathers. If people are afraid of asking, they are afraid of learning. 2 Tim 2:15 says "study to show yourself approved unto God..." Learning brings about approval. Seeking brings about finding. Knocking brings about door opening. Asking brings about answers...Anyone who stops learning is old, whether this happens at twenty, fifty, or eighty. Keep Learning, look for challenges to avoid, and challenges to dive into. Remember, so we don't keep making the same mistakes over. Life is a classroom, that keeps giving us new problems to solve. And finally seek out the perfect teacher, He will never lead you astray. Let us all be life-long-learners. The more you learn, the more you will find out there is so much more to learn. -stay connected-kim
